What are my options for sedation?
At our Fullerton, CA, office, we offer two forms of sedation dentistry: oral and gas.
The oral option is a medication provided by our office for you to take one hour prior to your appointment. The pill will offer sedation light enough for you to understand and respond to questions but potent enough that you should be able to sleep for the duration of your procedure.
We can also provide nitrous oxide sedation, which uses gas to relax you and prevent you from feeling pain during your procedure. Inhaled through a mask, this form of sedation works quickly and is combined with the use of a local anesthetic, so whether you are having a root canal, a cavity filled, or other dental restoration or surgery you will be comfortable.
Nitrous oxide sedation fades quickly post-procedure, so you should be fine to drive yourself home.
